“We have only 6 months to realize our dreams…”
we have to make them a reality or fail trying… but the time is now because these days will never come again…
I have 6 months to change everything and prepare for a new life…
moving on:
so i’ve decided to open up this page, remove it’s content and remove it’s password protection….
anyways…
I just wanted to write a little about WRC…
The FIA World Rally Championships? you may ask? I wish I had more to say about that other than that it’s been kicking ass
But, in this case I mean AIESEC Canada’s Western Regional Conference.
26 1/2 hours from the time i left my apartment in Victoria until the time i arrived at the hotel in Edmonton…. 16.5 hours driving straight from Vancouver to Edmonton with only two drivers… it was crazy…
The conference i thought would either be really good or really bad… and it rocked
The best thing about it, to me, was people:
1.) I got to hear the interesting things that people, speakers, faciliators had to say… gave me a lot to think about…
2.) I got to meet cool people from all over Canada (and some of the world) cool people with interesting backgrounds, cultures, and experiences…
3.) I got to know the delegates from my own university better
I was trying to think of my favourite highlights from the weekend were… and i’m not really sure…
but here are a couple:
Friday Afternoon after countless hours of driving…. we were on the stretch of highway 16 between jasper and edmonton… I was in the back seat… two friends in the front seat…. and I have music playing on the stereo… and about 12 minutes into “Rapper’s Delight” my friend cries out: “how long is this song?!?!” like it had been playing forever… I don’t know why i like that moment… it just seems like a fun road trip moment…
Sunday night (the last night) a bunch of people were outside of the banquet room in the hotel… and a Bon Jovi song starts playing (from the DJ inside the banquet room) and a bunch of us… mostly from SFU but people from other places, maybe UBC and UofCalgary, all huddle into a circle fallingly swaying with the music tries to sing lyrics we can’t quite remember… except for one spirited sfu girl (not mentioning any names) screaming out bon jovi lyrics… (”Always”.. i think) I really think this was one of my favourite moments of the weekend… so many people.. most of whom i had very recently met… yet all so welcoming and inviting…
a lot to think about…
only time will tell how things will unfold….
Current Song stuck in head: “Dorama” Utada Hikaru
