So in one week from september 7th to september 14th… I managed to move from #41 in google name searched rankings to #3!!
But i cannot seem to come up in yahoo or some of the smaller search engines =(

a little explanation… the number represents our rankings. Numbers in parentheses are when it’s about us, but not our actual site being listed. However, number in parentheses with a letter indicate where another competitor’s site comes up (For example, searching for “derek nobuyuki wallace” in Meta Crawler yielded Craig’s site #1, my site #2…. a devastating blow…)

PS: Anyone know is there is a spell checking plugin for wordpress?
EDIT: AJAX Spell Checker… it’s pretty good… but it mangles if you have HTML code

Over 2 million people in the area…. and our Google Public PageRank Freedom Fighting Competitors have been affected by this once-though-to-be terrorism….

september 12th, utility workers “accidentally” cut some power lines… and routed them improperly sending the world into a spiralling chain of events that would change the face of the competition forever… well for a day anyways…

in our competition, craig and my sites had all gone down since dreamhost is located in Southern California… and after enjoying their sushi lunch to plunged into the depths of the shadow that crept over the city… apparently, they were forced to evacuate the building while their servers went over to backups/UPSs unforunately, yet not suprisingly, all of their upstream providers went down in the blackout… however, while everything was down (and while people were forcibly evacuated and waiting outside to get back in to tend to their equipment, the UPSs drained until they were dead and all the servers and whatnot crashed…

poor dreamhost…. (an excellent webhosting company by the way, that i’d recommend!) as craig pointed out… i would not want to have been in their shoes

Derek Nobuyuki菫｡蟷ｸ Wallace versus Craig Atkinson… fight!

Craig Atkinson, of CraigAtk.ca and CEO of iGEN Knowledge Solutions, has challenged me to a friendly SEO competition to see who can raise their Public Google PageRank over the next few months until the next Public PageRank update

While Craig Atkinson may regain his spot on top of the “Craig Atkinson” search, to make it to the top of the “derek wallace” search from #31 will be difficult… at least “derek nobuyuki” and “derek nobuyuki wallace” are fairly unique…

This goes to show you… if you’re a moron, you’ll get crap on put on your computer whether you’re using IE or lulled into a false sense of security using Firefox… the bottom line is that most people are ignorant of internet related security….

you’d think the problem of the mid to late 90s (like emails saying, open this attachment and you could win a free trip to hawai’i…. i mean really…. how ignorant can you be?) still plague many people today… as they say, “common sense is not that common”
