Philanthropy, what does it mean to you?

I don’t think this can really count as my first vlog entry, because I didn’t create it…
but it’s philanthropy… and philanthropy is important… but what does it mean to you? (Leave a Comment about what philanthropy means to you!)

I’m saying.. philanthropy is about pickup up the things that others simply step over on a day to day basis.
When you’re down in the skytrain, look around - it’s pretty clean - “perhaps I’ve never seen anyone cleaning here, but it needs to be done and someone MUST be doing it.. right?”
You look elsewhere and you see plenty else that needs to be done… but this time quite to the contrary - you notice noone is doing anything about it.
That to me is philanthropy - looking around, realize that need - picking up that broom.
Pick up some litter on your next walk.

I can’t even spell philanthropy (spellchecker is great!) yet alone pronounce it!

Being aware of others, nearby and around the world, and making it part of our daily activities to be sharing of our time and energy without concern for how or if it will be paid back.
