I was looking to do a piece on the non-chinese-specific celebrations of the lunar new year but i could not find anyone to interview… but it is interesting to note that countries like vietnam and korea have been influenced to have their own celebrations of the lunar new year… and these celebrations would be interesting to note and discover how they have evolved from their chinese counterpart celebrations.
“gang xi fa cai to all my buddies on mars”
While I may have grown up in Vancouver, I do not speak any cantonese (at least none that i want to say here) so I will always offered the standard lunar new year’s greeting in manderin only.
Happy Robby Burns day to all the scots out there too…
Definitively worth taking a close look into is Vancouver’s Gung Haggis Fat Choy a celebration of Scottish Canadian and Chinese Canadian culture and cuisines.
The Archetype BlogCast asks: How did you spend your lunar new year’s??
DerekNobuyki: I spent the lunar new year celebrating my friend and roommate’s birthday… (this will have it’s own post when pictures are up)
How did you spend your lunar new year’s? Leave a comment to let us know =)
