One year ago…

I had an accident (http://press.derekwallace.com/2005/0809/drawn-blood/)

I was on my way to see my friend, Smita up at SFU when to avoid a collision with a jeep, i collided with the pavement underneath me… Thank you Smita for being so understanding….

When I phoned him up and told him I was just in an accident, Pardeep hopped into his truck and came to my aid… He helped me with an on-the-spot repair. He accompanied me as I made my way home and also to Burnaby Kawasaki to take my bike in. Thanks Pardeep for all your help.

Zizi was kind of enough to help me seek medical attention to make sure I didn’t have any injuries that were worse than I thought…. Thank you zizi for all your kindness and support (http://press.derekwallace.com/2005/0810/zi-style-support/). I hope I did cause you too much trouble around your birthday.

Unfortunately, two weeks later, in the crappy rain… and oil on the roads… despite taking the lynn valley westbound highway ramp very gently, i hit oil in the corner and lowsided (http://press.derekwallace.com/2005/0830/low-sided-ouch/)

But there were very good times riding… Cyprus mountain, Baker, Victoria, Harrison, Julia’s Loop, etc…
and there were tougher times like the winds in merrit, storms in victoria and the ferry, and riding in -2C cold to get to the passport office super early….

But through it all… Thanks to everyone who helped me through the tougher times… and thanks to those like James, Monica, Scotty, Tomasz, Julia, etc… for making the good times and happy riding….

that said… I am grateful for my friends and i REALLY want another bike!!
